Let me start with this so you wont have to read the rest of this long review... If you are looking for someone reputable, with good customer service and they're not trying to take advantage of your pocket book to do work on your chimney. Call David....
Possibly one of the most informative conversations I've had calling for a quote from ANY business in the last 10 yrs. I called Atlantas Chimney Caddy and spoke with David fully ready to have someone come out to help me with what I thought was a bird in my chimney. David ran me through my current system, how to watch out for problems, properly maintain, and spot any potential damages in the future. Incredibly informative. Unbelievable customer service. An absolute must hire if you need work on your chimney. -
We wanted to have the chimney inspected and a fireplace log set installed in our new home that we moved into this year. We phoned around to several fireplace chimney services and could not get an appointment for several weeks. One service suggested David’s company, Atlanta’s Chimney Caddy as a good choice to call. David was available in just over a week (over the Christmas holidays) and came out today to check out the chimney and to install the fireplace log set. David was on time for the appointment and was, courteous, knowledgeable and informative. Great service at a competitive price! We would most definitely recommend David to our friends and neighbors.

This is a year late, but David was awesome when he came out to our place. We're first time homeowners, and it was invaluable to have David come out and walk us through everything. He told us what to look for, how often to have him out, and his prices were great. I cannot recommend his services enough

I first have to start this review off with the fact that I do not live in Atlanta. I'm in Dallas, TX. I found David through a Youtube Video that he posted several years ago.
I was searching for DIY ways to fix cracks in fireboxes as I had just had a chimney sweep out that quoted $700 dollars for repairs to my firebox including a chemical cleaning of the flute. Something that David said in his video caused me concern. I googled his company and called the phone number and sure enough, David answered.
We spoke for half an hour as he was on his way to another job. I learned so much during our conversation. The most important thing that I learned is that I was being scammed. The technician assured me that I needed to fill the gaps between the sidewalls and the back wall of my manufactured fireplace. Come to find out, those are manufactured into the design. They are not meant to be filled. My sister just built her house and her fireplace also had the same gaps.
Long story short, David is the most honest person I've ever met. Even though I couldn't use his services (which I 1000% would have) he still spent the time to educate me and treat me as if I were a paying customer. He even reviewed photos that I texted him and called me back the next day to discuss them.
I have never had better service from an individual or a company. Not only is he a trustworthy man, but he's also a Godly man. Rest assured that any services he provides are the best in the area. -
David was awesome and joy to have sweep our chimney. He educated me on very important do's and don'ts when it comes to chimneys and fires. His prices are extremely fair and it's a plus that he is a believer! May God continue to bless him and his business!

I spoke with David who is very knowledgeable and friendly. He helped me with a small crack in the back wall of my fireplace without having to have to replace the panel. Thanks to all his good work. I highly recommend him for future endeavors.

David did a FANTASTIC job for us. We had squirrels that had built a nest in our chimney (with the help of a bad chimney cap installed by the previous homeowner) and David came out the same day, educated us on the inner workings of the chimney, explained our options, and then promptly swept the chimney and fixed the cap. He was professional, easy to work with, knowledgeable, and we'd HIGHLY recommend him to anyone! Thank you, David!

David has been servicing our chimney for over 10 years now. He is very courteous, reliable, prompt and affordable. We love supporting a local independent contractor and appreciate his thoughtful reminders when he checks in to see if we need the chimney cleaned.

David was great! Not only did he clean our chimney, but he took the time to show us how we can get a more efficient fire and heat from our chimney; saving us money in the future. Loved the trick with the ornament on the damper hook; we will use that one for sure.

I want to recommend David's work to everyone! He cleaned our chimney and put a vent hood on top a few years ago and we were totally pleased with his professionalism and price. I had been concerned about our beige carpet in front of the fireplace getting dirty, but he was very neat and considerate of that.

If you're looking for someone to inspect and clean your chimney, I would highly recommend David McEwen with Atlanta’s Chimney Caddy. He is extremely knowledgeable, explained what he was doing and answered all my questions in language that I could understand. He has been sweeping and inspecting chimneys in Cobb county for 20 years and it shows. He answered his phone when I called, showed up on time for his appointment, and was reasonably priced. How can you beat that? I was very pleased, will definitely use him again, and I am certainly going to recommend David McEwen and his company to all my friends.
